The History of Streaming Hematology Analyzer

The development of first set of blood analyzer is as follows:
1930 Casperrsson and Thorell pioneered with the microscope the structure of the stained cells
1934 Andrew Moldaran began to design the use of liquid hanging a single red blood cell flow through the glass capillary by the photoelectric detector connected to the microscope to count and record each by a cell, since then, taken from the microscope to observe the development of quiescent cells by flow cytometry the first step.
1936 Caspersson et al. To introduce microscopic photometric surgery Mierophotometry), also known as the microstructure spectrophotometric technique (Microspectrophotometry) or cell photometric technique (Cytophotometry). Mechanical, optical and electrical components in order to achieve the transmitted light, reflected light interferometry, optical path difference and fluorescence, thus achieving on the microscope to distinguish the scope of small objects (such as in the ordinary microscope with cells, etc.) and quantitative measurement.
Albert Coons in 1940 invented the antibody labeling fluorescence techniques and the use of a combination of specific proteins within the fluorescein antibody labeled cells, creating a fluorescently labeled antibody medical equipment.
1947 Guclcer the use of laminar and turbulent flow principle to the development of smoke particles counter. The same year, Wallace Coulter invented Kurt principle, that the particles suspended in the electrolyte with electrolyte through the small hole tube, replace the same volume of electrolyte, in the constant current circuit, the resistance between two electrodes inside and outside the aperture tube the size and frequency of occurrence of transient changes in potential pulse, the pulse signal and the particle size and is proportional to the number.
The Perlong medical device manufacturers pointed out that the blood analyzer design based on this principle has so far not changed, the principle was patented in 1949.
1950 Caspersson invented the technology of the cells was detected by micro spectrophotometer in the ultraviolet (UV) and visible spectral regions.
Crosland-Taylor in 1953 to study the laws of Newtonian fluid flow in a circular tube, the tube axis of flow through the sheath liquid flow rate the faster the loading by the ability of the stronger and stronger fluid power aggregation . So the design of a flow chamber: the cell suspensions to be analyzed are concentrated near the tube axis of the flow through the outer layer is wrapped sheath liquid, the cell suspension and the sheath liquid in order to maintain high-speed laminar flow state of motion. Design and so the principle of automatic counter of the red blood cell optics, therefore, laid the technical basis of modern flow cytometry in the flow. That same year, Parker and Hutcheon developed a complete blood count device, a prototype of the streaming blood analyzer.
After the above theory, technology and the accumulation of experience, in 1953 Coulter has introduced the world's first streaming hematology analyzer-Coulter, Counter Model A
